GUCFS – After Dark 2015
Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show (GUCFS) have been super busy over the past few months preparing for their big event, After Dark. We caught up with creative director, Fern Logue, and head of men’s fashion, Matthew Dawson, at an outdoor shoot earlier this year to find out what we can expect from the most highly anticipated event of the year.
Fashionable is perhaps a word you would be quick to associate with Glasgow, yet Edinburgh and St Andrews have triumphed the fashion scene in recent years. Their highly acclaimed charity shows have raised astonishing amounts, St Andrews raking in an impressive £28,000 last year alone. This year GUCFS creative team hope to rival their competitors. Their ambition is to raise more money from a single event than from the whole of RAG Week and their determination is clear.
The show will exhibit works from many up and coming designers such as ten30, Rachel McMillan and W2, in the hope of providing Scottish based designers with a platform to present their collections in Glasgow University’s extraordinary main building. As well as opening the doors to a new tradition of charity fashion shows in Glasgow, After Dark promises to be one of the biggest events on the Glasgow University social calendar – an event ‘unlike anything this university has seen before.’
